A Message from the Executive Director New Year, Same Purpose

I want to thank to all of our donors, volunteers, and everyone who has come to serve alongside us. You are a huge part of the success that we’ve had and you will be a huge part of the success we have moving forward.

We had a ton of projects in 2025, watch the video to see Executive Director, Duke Paulson, talk about all the amazing stuff that happened last year! As well as everything to look forward to in 2026.

Sharing God’s love, hope & support with our neighbors in need to uplift communities.

Our Vision

That every person experiencing homelessness in Pierce County has a pathway into a stable home as they pursue God’s plan for their lives.

Our Purpose

We support all people – including clients, volunteers, community partners, and staff – to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness. We offer supportive housing and addiction recovery programs that promote self-sufficiency, sustainable transformation, and stability. We share our Christian faith within a loving and inclusive community.

At the Tacoma Rescue Mission, we believe all people are created in the image of God. We accept our Biblical responsibility to demonstrate God’s love in all facets of organizational life and to our community, families, and individuals.

downtown campus expansion

This past year, we broke ground on our Downtown Campus Expansion Project. This expansion is going to double the amount of men’s shelter beds at the Tacoma Rescue Mission’s downtown campus.

Good neighbor village

GOOD NEIGHBOR VILLAGE (GNV) will provide permanent housing and care to Pierce County’s chronically homeless neighbors. Restoring dignity, purpose, and stability within a safe, supportive, and healing community.
