Tyler Square Client Profile
The Family Life Program seeks clients who have demonstrated a commitment to breaking ties with the past and beginning a new life. The following is a client profile that we adhere to:
- Family must be homeless. (Verification of homelessness is required)
- Head of household must be 18 years of age or older and one of the following:
- Single head of household with children
- Couples with children (marriage certificate required)
- Parent working toward reunification with spouse/children (special circumstances only)
- Household has steady source of income, which can include:
- People who are currently employed
- People who are receiving/eligible for State or Federal assistance
- People who have some other source of steady income (ie child support, family assistance)
- If substance abuse has been present with any family member, that person will have successfully completed a program for substance abuse and have remained substance free for at least one full year. (Verification of a recovery program is required.)
- If client or any family member has been a victim of abuse or domestic violence they must not be currently under the threat of abuse or domestic violence and have no existing restraining orders issued on any individual.
- No felony convictions less than 2 years old. A family must be willing to resolve any outstanding issues with law enforcement or the courts.
- Families must be willing to work towards cleaning up bad credit and work towards obtaining affordable housing.
- Family demonstrates a commitment to reviewing their situation and:
- Accepts responsibility for improving their lives
- Is willing to learn new behaviors
- Is ready to separate from the people and conditions that helped lead to the current difficulties, such as domestic violence, substance abuse, or friends and ex-spouses. (We strongly discourage dating while a resident at Tyler Square.)
Tyler Square Entry Requirements
Please attach copies of needed information when turning in a Family Life Program application.
Identification: (This includes copy of driver's license or State Identification card, social security cards, military ID, or green card)
Verification of Homelessness: (This may include an eviction notice or referral from shelter/service provider.)
Verification of Eligible Children: (This includes birth certificates and social security cards)
Income Verification: (This may include pay stubs, child support, tax statements, verification from employers, DSHS/Employment Security/Social Security documents)
